Do PRs want to work with brand journalists?

PR uncertainty around brand content and journalistsWe teamed up with Collective Content for a second year to find out if PR’s acceptance of brand journalists (is that even the right term?) had changed since last year.

PR professionals’ acceptance of brand journalists/content creators is gradually on the rise however the survey results are mixed.

The survey of 266 UK-based PRs was carried out in February this year.

The results include:

  • A fall in the number of PRs saying they had been contacted by someone creating brand content – from 67 per cent in 2015 to 58.1 per cent in 2016
  • A rise in the number of PRs who say they treat brand content enquiries the same as those from the media – from 39.4 to 53.6 per cent
