3 Monkeys wins Xirrus brief
Xirrus, the global wireless networking provider, has appointed 3 Monkeys as its PR and social media agency as it looks to enhance its profile in the UK and across Europe. 3 Monkeys was chosen as the retained agency for the business following a competitive five-way pitch.
Reporting to corporate marketing and communications director, John Merrill , 3 Monkeys will help Xirrus to highlight its expertise in wireless networking and de liver leadership campaigns to showcase how wireless is fast becoming the primary access type for businesses with wireless-only iPads and smartphones the devices of choice. 3 Monkeys is also tasked with driving home the business benefits of Xirrus' technology to the C-suite along with other business and IT decision-makers, to increase share in a highly competitive marketplace through an integrated communications programme.
Commenting on the appointment, Merrill said: "It's important to us that our agency partner has a proven track record of creative excellence in strategic communications and programme development, combined with wireless industry domain experience. We were impressed with 3 Monkeys' thinking, technical understanding, and strong relationships with industry influencers, including relevant trade, vertical, and business press. We've already seen some great results from the team."
Xirrus' VP of EMEA sales, Sean Larner, also commented: "Businesses are at tipping point when it comes to wireless networking thanks to the explosion in mobile devices and bandwidth intensive applications. Communicating this message beyond the trade press is a difficult task given all the associated tech jargon: 3 Monkeys has proven they have the ability to do just that. The agency will help us better educate our core audiences about the technological advancements in wireless – and crucially the tangible business benefits – raising our profile across the UK and all of Europe."
Stuart Yeardsley, board director at 3 Monkeys, who will lead the campaign, commented: "Xirrus has a great reputation in the US and amongst those familiar with the company in the UK. It is an exciting time to be working with Xirrus: The company had the vision and foresight over seven years ago to design and implement industry-leading wireless technology, which they believed would be the backbone for all business networking and communication. Thanks to the tremendous growth in mobile devices, and trends such as Bring Your Own Device and machine-to-machine communications, Xirrus is seeing this vision come to fruition. We're thrilled to be helping to raise their profile during such an exciting time in the evolution of networking, and look forward to telling Xirrus' innovation story in a compelling way to a wide range of organisations.”
