5 News is relaunching its weekday 18:30 programme to become NewsTalk Live.

The ITN-produced programme will begin on Monday 8 July and will focus on topical news debate between guests. ITN and Channel 5 have jointly stated that viewers will also have the chance to make their opinions on news stories known.

Emma Crosby will present the programme from Channel 5 headquarters in Lower Thames Street in addition to anchoring 5 News.

Geoff Hill, editor of 5 News, said: "Launching NewsTalk Live builds on a year of high editorial achievement, shows a news programme that's really found its place and continues the Channel 5 News tradition of breaking new ground in TV news. Emma and the production team have done a fantastic job over the last months developing our focus on debates."
