The Scotsman has appointed two new columnists for an update of its Perspectives section.

Alf Young, former deputy editor at The Herald, will cover politics and social affairs in Scotland.

Stephen Jardine, former STV presenter, will cover food and drink. Jardine also runs Taste Communications, a newly launched Scottish food and drink PR company.

Both will start at the paper tomorrow.
