Amaze PR jumper for joy with Save the Children account win
Save the Children has appointed Amaze PR to launch their first ever Christmas Jumper Day, a nationwide fundraising initiative taking place on Friday 14 December 2012.
The international children's charity has briefed Amaze PR to announce and launch Christmas Jumper Day, which is calling upon the public to take part in a time-honoured Christmas tradition of wearing a festive jumper in exchange for a £1 donation to "make the world better with a sweater."
The activity is being supported by a number of the charity’s celebrity ambassadors, including Myleene Klass, Erin O’Connor and Ashley Jensen, who have all been photographed in their favourite Christmas jumpers.
The agency, which has offices in Manchester and London, will work alongside Save the Children’s in-house team on a brief that involves a rigorous media relations campaign with social media support.
Amaze PR senior account director Sam Jones said: “Having worked within the Save the Children media team for 18 months the charity is very close to my heart, so I’m therefore thrilled to be working alongside them once again. The notion of wearing a Christmas jumper is something that makes charity giving straightforward and fun – and is something the Amaze PR team can really get behind.”
Ann Bryon, head of PR at Save the Children comments: "Here at Save the Children, we’re hugely excited by our first ever Christmas Jumper Day. We are launching the campaign at a very competitive time of the year so we require additional resource from some consumer PR specialists to enable us to make the campaign as far reaching as possible and help it launch with a bang. Having previously worked with Sam Jones I was confident Amaze PR could deliver against this exciting and challenging brief.”
