Amol Rajan joins BBC News as Media Editor

BBC News has named Amol Rajan as its first Media Editor.

He will report on and oversee coverage on all stories about the rapidly developing media industry, from global mergers to digital advances and their impact on business, politics and culture across the world.

Amol has previously served as Editor on The Independent and has contributed to the London Evening Standard.
