Andy Richardson named editor of The Northern Echo
The Northern Echo has appointed Andy Richardson as group editor, replacing Peter Barron who stepped down at the beginning of April. Following Barron’s departure, Richardson covered as acting editor and prior to that served as business editor at the title.
His fellow joint acting editor Nigel Burton has been promoted to the role of deputy group editor & head of content.
Their editorial responsibilities include the Echo’s online content and sister newspapers the Darlington & Stockton Times, Durham Times and the Advertiser Series.
