The BBC has closed the print edition of internal comms magazine Ariel as part of wider restructure of its 191-strong comms unit.

This in response to the consultation process resulting from the frozen licence fee settlement and will see 42 staff made redundant.

However the weekly publication, currently distributed to the 25,000 UK-based BBC staff, will continue to exist online.
