BBC News appoints education editor

BBC News has appointed Branwen Jeffreys as education editor, beginning later this month.

Jeffreys will lead education coverage for BBC News, with a particular focus on reporting for the Six and Ten O'Clock News on BBC One and the Today programme on BBC Radio 4.

For the past decade, Jeffreys has been a senior health correspondent for BBC News reporting on the policy and politics of the NHS and provision of healthcare. She can be found tweeting @branwenjeffreys.
