BBC Radio 1 commissioning editor to depart
BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra commissioning editor Piers Bradford will be leaving the service ahead of an internal reorganisation as part of the BBC's Delivering Quality First (DQF) initiative. Under the plans, Radio 1 and Radio 2 will share their commissioning, filming, live events and operations while keeping separate music, business management and production teams.
Bradford recently oversaw the launch of a Radio 1 branded space in the BBC iPlayer. He has not confirmed a departure date.
