BBC Radio 3 controller steps down
BBC Radio 3 controller Roger Wright is leaving the BBC.
Wright has been controller at BBC Radio 3 since 1998 and director of the BBC Proms since 2007. He will become chief executive at the Aldeburgh Music performance centre in September.
Helen Boaden, director of BBC Radio, said: "[Roger] has driven the distinctiveness of Radio 3 by developing a unique blend of music and speech programming, and creating special events like the Free Thinking Festival.”
Recruitment for the roles of BBC Radio 3 controller and director of the BBC Proms will begin "in due course".
