BBC Radio 5 live completes management team

BBC Radio 5 live has appointed Richard Maddock and Heidi Dawson to the editorial management team.

Maddock joins the station after 20 years working in commercial radio at Bauer Media where he is currently North West regional programme director, overseeing stations based at Radio City, Rock FM and Key 103.

Maddock becomes commissioning editor at BBC Radio 5 live and will lead on commissioning from independent production companies while assuming responsibility for major event planning.

Dawson, who is assistant editor at BBC Radio 5 live, will become editor next month. She will lead on collaborations with news programmes while supporting the station's multiplatform projects.

Both appointments will be based at MediaCityUK in Salford.
