Birmingham Post appoints editor
The Birmingham Post has appointed Alun Thorne as editor.
Thorne, previously head of business at the title, succeeds Marc Reeves who is to leave the company at the end of the year.
Reeves has edited The Birmingham Post since 2006 and oversaw the newspaper’s recent change from a daily to a weekly.
Thorne will take up the editorship on 1 January 2010 and will report to David Brookes, now editor-in-chief of BPM Media.
This follows the changes made to Trinity Mirror’s Midlands senior editorial management team in October.
