Gillian Gray, currently editor of Wigan Evening Post and its sister titles, is to become editor of Blackpool’s The Gazette.

Gray has been at the Evening Post, Wigan Observer and Wigan Reporter for the past 15 years, and succeeds David Helliwell, who left to become editor of the News & Star in Carlisle at the end of last year.

She will begin her role on 2 April. Her replacement at the Wigan titles is to be announced.
