Boards relaunched
Windsurfing magazine Boards has been relaunched for 2012 with a digital focus.
The monthly magazine has been scrapped and the website will form the core of the brand. The newly designed website has been improved and offers up to the minute news, more extensive features, product news and reviews, and travel features. There will also be an expanded directory, forums, and the new ‘Basics’ section – a guide dedicated to beginners which will link into the new, free Basics print magazine which will be available soon.
Adam Sims, previously a columnist with Boards magazine, has been appointed online editor and will oversee the new website.
The redesigned website will be supported by a mobile app launching in Spring which provides the latest windsurfing news, features and articles to readers with tablet devices.
Finally the monthly print magazine has been replaced by two printed annuals – Summer and Winter – that will offer more pages, better pictures and more in-depth features.
The annuals, along with Basics, will be edited by Amy Carter and Oisín Van Gelderen.
