Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard editor to retire
Cambs Times editor Brian Asplin is to retire, over 40 years after joining the title as a trainee reporter.
Asplin, who will also step down as editor of sister paper the Wisbech Standard, will depart at the end of January. He has edited the Cambs Times since 1993, and has edited both papers since 1998. Asplin previously worked at the Wisbech Standard in a variety of roles including chief reporter and deputy editor.
A replacement has yet to be appointed.
The Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard are published weekly on Fridays by Archant Herts and Cambs. They have a combined circulation of 39,906.
