Channel 4 News correspondent leaves for BBC Scotland

Channel 4 News business correspondent Sarah Smith has left for a role at BBC Scotland.

Smith has been appointed to the BBC's referendum unit in Glasgow and will provide coverage of the referendum on Scottish Independence. She will present a studio-based weeknight programme, Scotland 2014, which replaces Newsnight Scotland. She will also appear on BBC Radio Scotland.

At Channel 4 News, Smith was a More4 News presenter and Washington correspondent until 2011.
