The defunct Burton Trader, which was closed by Trinity Mirror in July, is to be relaunched as the ‘Independent Trader’ on 1 October.

The Midlands paper will be ran by a group of former Burton Trader colleagues, headed by local businessman Chris Clark.

The new title will remain as a weekly freesheet and circulate in the same area. Staff are now based at offices in Derby Street in Burton upon Trent.
