Daily Mail promotes deputy political editor

The Daily Mail has promoted James Chapman to political editor.

Chapman, who was previously deputy political editor, replaces Benedict Brogan who is leaving to join The Daily Telegraph.

Tim Shipman, currently Washington correspondent at The Sunday Telegraph, will replace Chapman.
