Joan McAlpine, Scottish National Party MSP, has been appointed by the Daily Record as a columnist.

McAlpine has previously been deputy editor of The Herald and editor of the Sunday Times (Scotland). She currently writes a weekly column for The Scotsman.

Her new column, for the Daily Record, will be titled ‘Joan McAlpine: an independent woman’ and will be published on Tuesdays. She will begin within the next few weeks but in the mean time can be reached at joan.mcalpine@yahoo.co.uk.
