David Dinsmore has been appointed acting managing editor of The Sun on an interim basis.

Dinsmore, the former editor of The Scottish Sun, joins from News International in Scotland where he was general manager. He is providing cover for Richard Caseby who will be joining the News International team preparing submissions and responses to the Leveson Inquiry full-time for the next three months.
