Archant has promoted David Powles to senior content editor at Norwich Evening News.

Powles will work alongside Peter Hannan, senior content editor at the EDP, as the two titles merge editorial operations.

Powles’ promotion comes as the two daily titles undergo reshuffles following the retirement of Peter Franzen in May. Last month, Peter Waters was named as the new editor of the EDP, and this month Tim Williams became editor for sister tile, the Norwich Evening News.

David will replace Paul Durrant who left earlier this month.
