Drop-in zones set to replace Local World offices

Local World is to close the newspaper offices for the Haverhill Weekly News and Royston Weekly News at the end of June.

Replacing them will be what the company describes as “modern, technology driven commercial ‘drop-in zones’ located in high traffic parts of the town centre.”

They went on to state that “once the drop-in zones are established, sales people and journalists will become ‘remote’ workers using up to date tablet computers and smart phones that will enable them to spend more time servicing local businesses and will use the facilities of the drop-in zones as and when needed.”

Prior to the zones being set up, Haverhill staff will be moved to Newmarket while Royston staff will be Saffron Walden based.
