Editor-in-chief role axed at The Scotsman

John McLellan's editor-in-chief role at Scotsman Publications is being axed as part of a cost-cutting management restructure. 

The Scotsman's Edinburgh-based journalists were told in an internal announcement on Thursday 11 April by Johnston Press Scotland.

John McLellan has been placed on gardening leave until further notice. 

Further announcements on the editorship of the Scotsman will be made in due course.
