Editorial appointments at The Scottish Sun

There have ben 19 new appointments to the editorial team at The Scottish Sun as the title operates a seven-days-a-week operation.

Chris Musson has been appointed Scottish home affairs editor.

Musson is currently a senior news reporter at the Daily Record but is set to leave the title next week and will join The Scottish Sun next month.

Bob Caldwell, also formerly of the Daily Record, has been appointed assistant sports editor, and is joined by David Friel, previously of Celtic View magazine, and Robert Thomson on the sports desk. Both will be sports writers at The Sun.

Andy Harries, the paper’s editor, said: "I'm delighted that The Scottish Sun's formidable editorial team is being further strengthened by these appointments. The 19 new jobs represent a significant investment in The Scottish Sun, and is good news for Scottish journalism."

Other appointments include David Wynn and Lisa Boyle, formerly of the Kilmarnock Standard and the Ayreshire Post respectively, as reporters; and Simon Houston as deputy features editor.
