Editorial changes at News International
News International has announced a new “managing editor structure” that will see some integration of daily and Sunday titles.
Where there is common ground across weekday and Sunday titles the publisher will implement efficiencies to editorial systems and processes through integration. Rebekah Brooks, Wapping’s chief executive, said the change “will enable each title to share best practice and to focus more resources on front-line journalism and content creation.”
As a result Richard Caseby has been appointed group managing editor with responsibility for the The Sun and News of the World. He is currently managing editor at the Sunday Times.
Anoushka Healey has also been appointed group managing editor, with responsibility for The Times and Sunday Times.
The News of the World’s existing managing editor, Bill Akass, will be appointed executive editor.
Current managing editor of The Sun, Graham Dudman, will become editorial development director with responsibility for developing training, talent, and skills across News International’s four newspapers.
