Tom Macklin has been appointed executive editor and entertainment director at ELLE.

Macklin, who joins the title on 22 November from the celebrity division at Halpern, replaces Chris Hemblade. Hemblade left in July to join Macmillan Cancer Support as VIP and celebrity executive.

Also at ELLE, Hannah Swerling has been appointed editorial assistant/PA to the editor in chief. Swerling replaces Claire Sacre who was promoted to junior commissioning editor earlier in the year.

ELLE is a monthly women’s magazine from Hachette Filipacchi UK, covering fashion, beauty and lifestyle for urban and aspirational young women.
