Northern & Shell's director of digital content, Gareth Morgan, is leaving his position 10 months after he was appointed.

Morgan, former editor of the Daily Star Sunday, was made head of Northern & Shell's digital newsroom in July last year, covering the Daily Star, Daily Star Sunday, Daily Express and Sunday Express. His appointment from print to digital was part of Northern & Shell's plan to create over 40 editorial roles across the newspaper websites.

Current online editor Geoff Marsh will temporarily undertake Morgan's duties.
