Communications consultancy Freshwater has appointed Staffordshire-born PR professional Adrian Marklew as an account director.

With 20 years experience, Marklew will draw on his expertise to lead Freshwater Midlands’ communications specialists, providing PR and marketing communications services to regionally-based organisations and companies. They currently include housing and care associations, commercial property developers and the West Midlands International Innovation Centre.

Prior to joining Freshwater, Adrian was the communications and marketing lead at Redditch Borough Council and has also delivered strategic communications management for the National Trust, Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board and consultancy clients involved in education, professional services and health. Career highlights have included managing the PR for Taste Lancashire ‘08 which involved making the world’s biggest Lancashire hotpot and the National Trust’s Centenary celebrations in the Lake District.

Freshwater employs 65 staff and works for over 200 clients. Its Midlands regional office in Birmingham city centre office is one of a network across the UK and Ireland which includes offices in all the capital cities.
