Global Media Publishing has promoted Aidan Turnbull to managing editor. Turnbull will manage the publisher’s stable of B2B energy publications, including titles such as Worldwide Independent Power, Middle East Power, Independent Power Asia and American Independent Power.

Turnbull, who joined Global Media Publishing in 2009, is currently editor of the AMPS Directory and Gen-Set & Cogeneration Directory. In addition to his new role, he will also edit UK Power News, to be launched in September 2011.

The former editor of niche titles such as Industrial Fire Journal, Fire & Rescue, Cast Metals & Diecasting Times, Military Firefighter and Local Authority Plant & Vehicles, Aidan commented: “I have long since become immune to the jibes of friends and colleagues that the journals I work on should appear on ‘Have I Got News For You’ – because they are so eclectic and specialist. Certainly, these energy titles fulfil a vital role in keep industry up-to-date with both developments and innovations in ‘green’ and fossil-fuel power generation. And with my appointment as managing editor I am also tasked with co-ordinating the Conference side of GMP’s Independent Power & Energy Electricity 2012 exhibition – an event widely regarded as being amongst the top three of Europe’s energy shows.”
