Gordon Burns leaves BBC local radio in the North West
BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio Lancashire Sunday morning presenter Gordon Burns has left the local radio stations after two years.
Burns previously hosted the BBC regional news programme North West Tonight and the ITV game show The Krypton Factor. He will now be spending more time with family and developing his media consultancy business, the Gordon Burns Partnership.
Kate Squire, editor at BBC Radio Manchester said: "He will be missed by his loyal listeners across the North West. He is an excellent broadcaster and there is no one quite like him."
BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio Lancashire will no longer share Sunday morning programming with Eamonn O'Neal and Jimmy Wagg followed by Mike Sweeney on the Manchester station and Ted Robbins followed by Stephen Lowe on the Lancashire station.
Burns can be found tweeting @mrgordonburns.
