News UK has promoted Gordon Smart, the editor of The Sun’s Bizarre column, to editor of the Scottish Sun.

Smart replaces Andrew Harries who is leaving after 3 years as editor of the Scottish Sun to take the helm at the Scottish Daily Mail. Harries is taking over from Chris Williams who is retiring after 10 years in the job.

Smart will lead the Scottish Sun at a critical time, leading the paper's coverage in the run-up to the vote on Scottish Independence in September 2014.

Sun on Sunday's showbiz editor Dan Wootton is being promoted to the new role head of showbiz, working across The Sun’s seven day operation. An editor of Bizarre is to be appointed and they will report in to Wooton.
