Harkess leaves The Herald
Janette Harkess, deputy editor of The Herald, is leaving the Scottish daily to join an economic development body.
Harkess has been appointed director of policy and research with Scottish Council for Development and Industry and will be responsible for the organisation’s work on the economy, energy and international trade both UK-wide and in Europe.
She joined the Herald and Times Group from the Scottish Daily Mail as the Evening Times’ deputy editor in 1999 and became deputy editor of The Herald three years ago.
