Head of news appointed at The Guardian
Dan Sabbagh, currently head of media and technology at The Guardian, is to become head of national news.
Sabbagh will replace Dan Roberts, who is set to become Washington bureau chief. He, in turn, will replace Ewen MacAskill, who is returning to London after six years in his post.
Sabbagh is a former media editor for The Times and joined The Guardian in November 2010.
