Historian joins the FT

Historian Simon Schama has joined the Financial Times as a contributing editor.

Schama, professor of art history and history at Columbia University in New York, will write regularly for the Financial Times and FT Weekend.

As well as being an internationally acclaimed author, Schama was a cultural critic for The New Yorker and contributes to a number of publications in the UK and US.

He has also written and hosted several television programmes for broadcasters on both sides of the Atlantic.
