The Independent has appointed Nicole Mowbray as features editor.

Mowbray, currently commissioning editor for the Daily Mail’s Femail section, is expected to join The Independent in July. Contact details are not yet confirmed. She replaces Guy Adams, who became Los Angeles correspondent last month.

Christian Broughton will be acting features editor until Mowbray joins.
