Lowestoft Journal editor Russell Cook has left his position to become head of news at the Ipswich Evening Star.

Cook was editor at the Journal for seven and a half years and will replace Jessica Gallagher, who will become head of external media at Suffolk County Council.

A replacement for Cook at the Lowestoft Journal is yet to be announced.
