The Irish Times newspaper has launched a new website, www.irishtimes.com.

The site, which offers free access to current news stories and a 12 month news archive, replaces the subscription only www.ireland.com, which will now be relaunched as an Irish tourism website.

Current subscribers will be offered a full refund for the remaining subscription period, although access to the full news archive, dating back to 1869, will remain subscription only.

The Irish Times has undergone a series of changes in the past year, including a redesign with new supplements, and increased distribution in England and Wales.
