Jemima Khan has been appointed as associate editor of The Independent and its sister title i.

Simon Kelner, editor-in-chief of The Independent and i, announced the appointment on Twitter: “Really excited to announce @Jemima_Khan as new associate editor of @TheIndyNews and @TheIPaper.” It was followed by another tweet a few hours later “Everyone at @TheIndyNews and @TheIPaper looking forward to seeing @Jemima_Khan at morning conference next week.”

Khan will write interviews as well as contribute to the comment and features pages of both titles and will also have some commissioning duties.
