The Whitby Gazette has appointed Jonathan Stokoe as editor.

Stokoe has been acting editor since his predecessor Damian Holmes joined the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.

Stokoe has also held content editor and deputy editor positions at the bi-weekly, having started out as a trainee on the newspaper 15 years ago.
