Bauer Media has appointed former Kerrang! Radio programme director James Walshe as acting programme director at Key 103 in Manchester.

Walshe departed Kerrang! Radio last week after Bauer Media closed the station's broadcasting operations in Birmingham and replaced its 105.2 frequency in the West Midlands with Planet Rock.

Gary Stein left the role of programme director at Key 103 in January, while Richard Maddock, Bauer's North-West group programme director, is leaving to join BBC Radio 5 live.

Walshe can be found tweeting @James_Walshe.
