London Evening Standard website relaunch
The London Evening Standard’s website has been redesigned and relaunched.
The website address will be switching from thisislondon.co.uk to standard.co.uk.
The website has changed emphasis to become more focussed on the London experience rather than a news-first site. This change means that whilst incorporating the big stories in London such as news, sport and business, it will have a greater focus on culture, food, parties and fashion. The site also encompasses a dedicated section for the Olympics to provide up to date details of the games.
Charlotte Ross, assistant features and online editor said, ‘There are new sections, including the Going Out platform which has search and booking facilities and a dedicated team creating guides and features on everything from restaurants, pubs, live gigs, theatre and cinema to the big London events and exhibitions.
The Arts and Life & Style sections have been given a huge boost, with slick design and dedicated pages for each sub-section, from architecture to fashion.
And there is a marked increase in online-only material, such as on the Mayoral page, adding depth and analysis to the City Hall race, and the Arts and Life & Style pages, where we have daily food reviews, street fashion, ‘London Best’ top fives and constantly updated book now guides across all the culture platforms.’
