Mail Online to change to .com extension
Mail Online is to switch from its .co.uk domain extension to .com following negotiations with a US paper that has owned the dailymail.com domain since 1996.
DMG Media has reportedly paid up to £1M to secure the domain name. The move comes in recognition of its increased international readership, with up to 70% of its monthly web traffic coming from outside of the UK and a large portion of this from the US.
