MEN splits in revamp

The Manchester Evening News has undergone a revamp which has seen the regional daily split into two editions: North and South.

The GMG title launched the revamped editions yesterday (7 January) with dedicated front pages for each area, as well as a mix of city-centre news and localised content for the regions. Each edition will continue to feature the others' local news on page 15.

The paper announced the changes by saying: "Both editions will still carry all the big stories from across Greater Manchester, but will have a greater focus on the area where you live."

The revamp has also seen the launch of a "Faith Matters" column featuring opinion pieces from representatives of different faith groups, and a "Nostalgia" section featuring old photos from the city.
