Metro plans regional editorial closures
Associated Newspapers owned Metro plans to shut its five regional editorial offices.
Metro announced a series of potential redundancies from its regional editorial operations.
An external statement issued by the newspaper said: “The redundancies are part of Metro’s cost reduction plans, in response to the challenging economic conditions we face. We will be consulting fully with employees affected by this announcement.”
The offices in Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham and Bristol produce local content for the regionalised arts, entertainment and food pages in the Metro Life section.
