Mirror announces new editors
The Mirror has announced the appointments of Peter Willis and Alison Phillips to the roles of Mirror editor (weekdays) and Mirror editor (weekends) respectively.
Lloyd Embley, editor of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror, said: "These two positions are absolutely key to the seamless introduction of a seven-day operation at the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror.
"Peter and Alison are superbly talented journalists whose creativity, drive and instinct are exactly what we need.
"I worked with them both at the Daily Mirror for many years before editing The People and I know that we will make a dynamic team. These are richly-rewarded promotions for two of the finest journalists I know."
Willis joined the Daily Mirror in 1997. During his 15 years at the Mirror, he has held executive roles including deputy editor, associate editor, assistant editor and head of features. He has been on the Mirror's editing rota since 2002.
Phillips joined the Daily Mirror in 2001 as features editor before becoming associate editor eight years ago.
