Mobile editor appointed at BBC News Online

BBC News Online editor Steve Herrmann has appointed Nathalie Malinarich to the first-time role of editor, mobile and new formats.

Malinarich was previously BBC News Online's world editor. She will focus on editorial for mobile and tablets, platforms which have attracted an audience that Herrmann says, "regularly outnumbered those visiting BBC News Online on desktop".

Changes are currently being developed which will see BBC News Online optimised for different screen sizes and will include a simpler design and an updated responsive tablet and desktop site.
