The Morpeth Herald has unveiled a redesigned masthead in conjunction with its 160th anniversary. The Johnston Press title has ditched its traditional Gothic typeface in favour of a contemporary slab-serif look, in keeping with other JP titles.

The weekly paper was first printed in 1854, and after originally being a broadsheet, it was switched to compact format last year.
