Dennis Rice, investigations editor at The Mail On Sunday, is leaving to pursue a freelance career in September.

He will continue to specialise in investigations – news and sports, although essentially news.

Rice, who has been working on the paper for three years, resigned in June and was nominated for reporter of the year at the 2008 British Press Awards.
