Nick Allen, previously world news reporter at Bloomberg, has been appointed as a reporter for The Daily Telegraph newsdesk.

Andy Sharman has joined the Independent as editorial assistant (part-time). Sharman works on education and is also a freelance features writer for the supplement.

Tim Sharp is joining The Herald at the end of this month as city reporter.

Ian Lyall, currently city news editor at the Daily Mail, will take on the additional role of investment editor. Lyall will be writing the Saturday investment column.

Joshua Rozenberg, The Daily Telegraph legal editor, is now working freelance. Rozenberg will remain legal editor of The Daily Telegraph but will concentrate on the weekly column and the off-beat stories. Christopher Hope, legal affairs correspondent, will take on daily news coverage.
